The configuration API allows you to manage account-wide and subaccount configurations such as the webhooks used for SMS and Chat-Apps inbound messages, delivery and read receipts, and various events.
About webhooks
Webhooks are callbacks, that you can easily set up to receive events from the 8x8 platform.
To configure a new webhook, just indicate to the 8x8 platform to which URL we should send an event and if there is any authentication to use.
Messaging (SMS or ChatApps) webhooks can be configured for any of the following purposes:
SMS
- Receiving inbound SMS
- Receiving delivery receipts for outbound SMS
ChatApps
- Receiving inbound ChatApps messages
- Receiving delivery receipts for outbound ChatApps messages
- Receiving read receipts for outbound Chat-Apps messages
